About Art by Deanna Field
I design pieces for women like you who:
Find happiness in beautiful things.
See jewellery as a form of self expression.
Love the unique and colourful.
Do you have memories of collecting stones from your favorite swimming spot, holding them in your hands and marveling at how beautiful they were?
When I was around four of five, living on a remote North Australian cattle station on the banks of the iconic Daly River, there was a man who took stones from the river and polished them in a tumbler made from an old cement mixer. I don't remember his name but I have never forgotten those pretty, shiny rocks.
Hi I'm Deanna,
I create artistically inspired wire wrap jewellery for women who love colour, texture and a dash of romance!
I have no formal training, but you know, the internet really is an amazing thing. Everything I have learned has been from books or online tutorials from other artists.
When I was around nineteen and we had moved to civilisation, my Mother and her friend opened a secondhand shop. Someone brought in a small jewellery kiln to sell, it had wax ring moulds and a book on how to use it. I have always wanted to make things not just own them so the idea of making jewellery was instantly appealing, but as you know when you are young and full of ideas with no money to make it happen you let things go, but the seed was planted.
Fast forward thirty-something years, one husband, two grown up kids, two horses, many paintings, bonsai trees, sewing and sculpting projects later. I was still searching for some way to express myself, and there it was. Wire wrapping, jewellery that didn’t need expensive equipment, just a few tools and some wire and my jewellery journey had finally begun.
So...
I have one question for you my lovely friend.
Are you ready to come with me on this ever evolving journey of self expression and beauty?
